ELENA CLEMENT

Elena Clement was born on March 15, 1978 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After graduating from high school, her intellectual ambition was divided between two related activities: graphic and advertising design and artistic painting. It was then that she embarked on her pursuit of both vocations by majoring in Fine Arts and Institutional Communication Sciences and Advertising at the Catholic University in Washington, DC. Having almost finished her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences, Elena decided to take a break from her studies in the States. She moved to Paris, France, from 2000 to 2001 to study art history at the Sorbonne University.
Upon her return to Argentina, Elena finished her collegiate career and graduated with a degree in communications. She has since, in the last few years, honed her focus within this broad field, by focusing on advertising and graphic design. Currently, besides her work as a publicist and graphic designer, Elena has had the privilege of showing her paintings in numerous public exhibitions.
Elena creates figurative and abstract paintings focused on a process of internal exploration which she shares with the world. We, as the audience, must be open to appreciating the romantic palette with which she explores the use of color and the company of a particular silence that is present in almost all of her paintings.
Some works evoke the intimate contact between the colored landscapes and the eye; while others offer a significant sensibility uniting abstraction and representation that are loaded with a symbolic weight.
