Memories

September 5 – October 3, 2018

Artemisa Gallery is pleased to present Memories, a show by Argentinean women photographers Luján Candria, Lorena Guillén Vaschetti and Viviana Zargón.

With photography as their medium, all three artists work in revealing the story and silence behind the image. In doing so, they allow viewers to enter a world of memories, family histories, and the unsaid.

Photographer Candria defragments the landscape by playing with juxtaposition and repetition. Guillén Vaschetti’s old set of family photographs, slides and elements become testimonies that unveil truths about her identity. Zargón bends, fragments and cuts the continuity of work, introducing pauses in the spectator’s lecture.

Each work invites us to discover personal, collective and historic memories by allowing us to enter a time and space that stills emotional memories.

Memories will be available online and by appointment from September 5th, until October 3rd, 2018.
