PAJARO GOMEZ

Pajaro Gomez was born in 1946 in Argentina. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, and was trained by master sculptors such sa Antonio Pujia and Marino Di Tiana. Since 1967 Gomez has received awards from organizations including the Konex Foundation, Bienal Internacional de Escultura, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, and Salon National de Artes Plasticas. Gomez has also become increasingly involved with site-specific projects, recently installing large-scale outdoor sculptures for the Pinamar Foundation, Museo de Bellas Artes, Villa Adelina, as well as the Coleccion Killka of Bodegas Salenein in Argentina.

Few sculptors organize the exhibition environment the way Pajaro Gomez does, by approaching it as a whole and by developing ideas in implicit and explicit lines that progress from one work to another. Gomez relies on a minimal number of elements to achieve a maximum degree of tensions in his sculptures. Nothing is visually static about the works; nor the volumes, the coordinates, or the possible turns of the articulations that do not solely move in one direction but also perform several types of movements within the space.
